New York needs more community policing. Peter Koo will advocate for federal stimulus dollars to be allocated to our City so we can fill some of the 6,000 police positions we have lost since 2002. Peter Koo wants to see the state adopt tough anti crime laws like the death penalty for cop killers. Peter Koo opposes efforts by Governor Paterson to release violent criminals early through a liberalization of parole. Our District Attorney works hard, but cannot be expected to get the job done if the political parties coninue control the judicial nomination process. Peter Koo wants to see State Supreme Court Judges directly elected, thus ending the power of political party bosses.

Peter Koo believes that criminals belong in jail, not on our streets. To combat quality of life crimes, Peter knows we must increase penalties and fines and put the Beat Officer back on patrol in our neighborhoods. Peter understands that graffiti is not a victimless crime and vandals can no longer be treated with kid gloves.
